Statement of Faith

This is the long-form theological statement of Glorious Gospel Centre — the convictions that shape our preaching, our worship, our discipleship, and our mission. Every position is rooted in Scripture and tested across centuries of faithful Christian witness.

A Word Before You Read

Why a Statement of Faith Matters

A statement of faith is more than a list of doctrines. It is a public commitment — a declaration of where we stand, what we teach, and how we want to be held accountable. We believe theology shapes life. What a church believes about God, the Bible, salvation, and the Church determines how it worships, how it loves, and how it sends.

Read on if you want to understand the depth of our convictions. If you have questions or want to discuss any part of this statement with a pastor, please get in touch — we'd genuinely welcome the conversation.

Our Belief on Salvation

At Glorious Gospel Centre, we believe that salvation is entirely a work of God's grace. It cannot be earned or deserved through good works or human effort. It is a free gift made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and is offered to all people through the gospel.

In His deep love and mercy, God forgives sinners whom He calls to Himself. By His Spirit, He grants the gifts of repentance and faith, enabling us to turn from sin and trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. This is not something we achieve — it is God's gracious work in us.

Everyone who believes in Christ is justified by faith alone, meaning they are declared righteous before God because of what Jesus has done. They are also adopted into God's family, becoming His children and heirs to eternal life.

At Glorious Gospel Centre, we joyfully proclaim this message of hope and transformation. We exist to see lives saved, hearts renewed, and people walking in the power and freedom that come from knowing Jesus. This is the heart of the gospel — grace from beginning to end.

Our Belief in Jesus Christ

At Glorious Gospel Centre, we believe that Jesus Christ is God made flesh — fully God and fully man. He is the eternal Son of God who entered human history through a miraculous virgin birth, conceived by the Holy Spirit. He lived a perfect, sinless life in full obedience to the Father, displaying compassion, truth, and divine authority in all He taught and did.

Everything Jesus said is true, and everything He did fulfilled God's redemptive plan. On the cross, Jesus died in the place of sinners, bearing the punishment for sin we deserved. Through His sacrificial death, He redeemed us by His precious blood, providing complete atonement and reconciliation with God.

We believe in His bodily resurrection — a powerful declaration of His victory over sin and death. After rising from the grave, Jesus ascended into heaven, where He is now exalted as Lord of all, reigning in glory and authority. Today, He continues His saving work as our great High Priest, interceding for His people in the presence of the Father.

At Glorious Gospel Centre, we worship Jesus not only as our Saviour, but as the risen and reigning Lord, the centre of our faith and the hope of the world.

Our Belief About the Church

At Glorious Gospel Centre, we believe that the Church belongs to Jesus Christ — He is the owner, the head, and the foundation. The universal Church is made up of all who are saved through faith in Christ, united as one body with Christ as the head.

This universal Church is expressed visibly in local churches, like Glorious Gospel Centre, where believers gather to worship God, hear the preaching of His Word, care for one another, and engage in evangelism. We believe that God calls His people into committed fellowship, not only with Himself but also with one another.

As a local church, we are devoted to pastoral care, biblical teaching, godly discipline, and mission, all done under Christ's leadership and for His glory. The unity of the body of Christ is demonstrated through mutual love, support, and shared faith in Jesus.

We seek to walk in partnership with other churches who remain faithful to the gospel of Christ, recognising that true fellowship is built on truth and grace. At Glorious Gospel Centre, we are committed to building a Christ-centred community that reflects the heart, mission, and truth of the one who owns the Church — Jesus Christ.

Our Belief About the Bible

At Glorious Gospel Centre, we believe that God has revealed Himself through the Bible, which consists of the Old and New Testaments alone. Every word was inspired by God through human authors, making the Bible, as originally given, completely true, without error, and fully trustworthy.

The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. It is entirely sufficient to guide how we believe, live, worship, and serve.

Above all, we believe the Bible has one central subject — Jesus Christ. As He said, 'You search the Scriptures… and it is they that bear witness about Me' (John 5:39). At Glorious Gospel Centre, we read and teach the Bible to know, love, and follow Christ.
