What We Believe

Eight Truths That Shape Everything

At Glorious Gospel Centre we stand firmly on the historic, biblical Christian faith. These eight core beliefs anchor our worship, our teaching, and our life together as a church family.

Grounded in Scripture

Our Foundation Is Christ. Our Authority Is the Word.

We are a non-denominational, Bible-believing, Christ-centred church. While we hold to the orthodox Christian faith shared by believers across centuries and continents, we are particularly anchored in the gospel of grace — the good news that salvation is freely given through Jesus Christ alone.

What follows are the eight beliefs that shape who we are, how we worship, and how we serve our city. Each one is supported by Scripture, and each one points us back to the same person — Jesus.

Eight Truths We Hold Together

The Triune God

We believe in one eternal God, who exists in three distinct yet inseparable persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, equal in power, glory, and love, working in perfect unity in creation, redemption, and the lives of believers.

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible — the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the supreme rule for faith and life, and we submit our beliefs, our preaching, and our practice to its teaching.

Salvation Through Jesus Christ

We believe salvation is the free gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus is fully God and fully man, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

The Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every born-again believer, empowering us to live a Christ-honouring life, illuminating Scripture, producing godly character, and equipping us with gifts to serve the body of Christ. We welcome the Spirit's leading in our worship, ministry, and daily walk.

The Church

We believe the Church is the global family of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Locally, the Church gathers to worship, hear the Word, share communion, baptise new believers, pray, and serve. Glorious Gospel Centre is one local expression of this universal family.

📖 Ephesians 4:4–6 · Hebrews 10:24–25 · Acts 2:42

The Great Commission

We believe every Christian is sent — called to share the good news of Jesus Christ with every nation, tribe, and tongue. From Leicester to the ends of the earth, the gospel is to be preached, disciples are to be made, and lives are to be transformed by the love of God.

📖 Matthew 28:18–20 · Mark 16:15 · Acts 1:8

The Return of Christ

We believe in the bodily, visible, and personal return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead. We hold firmly to the hope of eternal life with God for all who trust in Christ, and the resurrection of the body. This blessed hope shapes how we live each day.

📖 Acts 1:11 · 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 · Revelation 22:20

Christian Living

We believe that those who have been saved by grace are also called to live by grace. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Christian life is one of love, holiness, integrity, generosity, and service — bearing witness to the goodness of God in every season and every relationship.

📖 Galatians 5:25 · Titus 2:11–12 · 1 Peter 1:15–16

“For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.”

— Romans 11:36
