Sundays for Kids & Youth

A Safe, Joyful Place to Meet Jesus

From babies to school leavers, our children's and youth ministry is built on three things: clear safeguarding, age-appropriate Bible teaching, and a genuinely fun morning. Children are warmly welcomed at GGC.

  • DBS-checked volunteers
  • Two-adult rule
  • Signed-in & out by you
A Note for Parents

Your Child's Safety Comes First. Always.

We know that bringing your child to a new church takes trust. So before we tell you about the fun, the songs, or the crafts — we want you to know that every choice we make about Sunday morning starts with safeguarding.

Every volunteer working with children at GGC is DBS-checked. Every group is run with a minimum of two unrelated adults. Every child is signed in and signed out by their own parent or guardian on a digital register. And every concern, however small, is taken seriously and properly recorded.

You'll always know where your child is, what they are learning, and who is with them. If at any point you'd like to step in or take them out, you are welcome to do so without explanation.

Our Age Groups

A Place for Every Age

  • 0 – 3 years

    Tiny Steps

Babies and toddlers are warmly welcomed in the main service alongside their parents, with a comfortable buggy-friendly area at the back. A separate quiet feeding and changing room is available for parents who'd like privacy at any point during Sunday.

    • Stay with parent · Feeding room available
    • Buggy-friendly access from the entrance
  • 4 – 7 years

    Little Lions

Our youngest dedicated group meets in their own room during the main service. We open with songs and a Bible story, then move into age-appropriate crafts, games, and prayer. The whole hour is built around big truths told in simple words.

    • Bible story · Songs · Craft · Free play
    • Two DBS-checked volunteers minimum
  • 8 – 11 years

    Lighthouse Kids

Our older children's group dives a little deeper. We open the Bible together, ask big questions, run games and discussions, and help children connect Scripture to their everyday lives at home and school.

    • Bible study · Discussion · Games · Worship
    • Two DBS-checked volunteers minimum
  • 12 – 18 years

    Anchored Youth

A space for teens to belong, ask honest questions, and grow in faith without pressure. Anchored Youth meets during the main service on Sundays, with regular midweek socials and termly residential trips.

    • Bible discussion · Q&A · Socials · Camps
    • Two DBS-checked youth leaders minimum
What We Promise Every Parent

Our Safeguarding Standards

  • DBS-Checked Volunteers

Every adult working with under-18s holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate, renewed every three years.

  • The Two-Adult Rule

No child is ever alone with a single adult. Every group is run with a minimum of two unrelated, DBS-checked volunteers.

  • Sign-In, Sign-Out by You

Children are signed in by a parent or named guardian and can only be collected by the same person, verified at the door.

  • Trained on Reporting

Every children's volunteer completes annual safeguarding training and knows exactly how to raise a concern — including externally if needed.

🛡️ Designated Safeguarding Lead contact details are on our safeguarding policy page. Concerns can also be raised directly with the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
